Adding a “Post” to your WordPress website is similar to adding “Pages” except they behave a little differently and appear in different places on your website. 

Pages are generally tied to the navigation buttons or tabs.

Posts are associated with categories. 

Using the category features of WordPress are one of the best things about using WordPress.  In fact, think of categorizing your posts as a filing system.  When you properly categorize your posts and think strategically about how to name them, it allows you to present your content in an on-going manner that is both sensible and accessible..
